Relay Inquiry Line

Auxiliary Relay Service (ARS) assists the State Relay Center, Telephone Companies, Businesses, Hospitals and Residence customers in the deaf and hearing community with problems concerning Telecommunications Relay Service and other related communications requirements including:

  • Answering questions regarding Relay Service.
  • Changing Relay Data Base Profile for:
    • Carrier Pics for Local and Long Distance
    • Carrier Blocks for non payment
    • Call Trace for Annoyance Calls
  • Daily Monitoring of Relay Service Standards.
  • Resolving customer problems with relay Service.
  • Provide interface or listings to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, for Telephone Service Representatives, Repair, Long Distance Carriers, etc. and act as agents for Telephone Repair service or Representatives.
  • Provide information on Text Telephones and VCO phones.
  • Assist customers in the purchase or repair of a Text Telephone or VCO phone.
  • Assisting deaf and hearing customers in setting up their first or new Text or VCO telephone as well as trouble shooting text phone problems.
  • Offering remote Training Courses and Video courses to Hospitals and Businesses on Text Telephone, Relay and Deaf Sensitivity.
  • Providing information to both hearing and deaf people on how to use the Relay Service.
  • Distributing instructions and literature regarding Coin Relay Calls, to customers, Deaf Organizations and Telephone Companies.
  • Assisting in Relay Billing problems.
  • Solving problems associated with service for the Deaf for local and long distance companies.
  • Provide and maintain 311 & 511 routing databaes for TRSP's.
